Suburban Monsters by Christopher Hawkins is an insanely dark and twisted read (which is to say I loved every story!)

I picked it out of a BookFunnel promotion sometime last year, and while reading, some of the stories felt familiar to me. I went back to see when they were first published, and realized it’s entirely possible that I stumbled upon them when I was cruising around on the internet for horror stories as a teen! It felt like coming home (a broken, haunted home at that—but still LOL).

I don’t think there’s a single story I’ll forget—from a clown transformation, shadows reaching out, a mother’s undying love… There's something to stick in every corner of my brain.

This book is probably not for everyone, but if you like dark stories and characters with even darker dispositions—it’s for you. I definitely enjoyed every word; the author just has a talent for immersing you in every tale. I also love that the title of the book is so very fitting!

Suburban Monsters is amazing, and I’m so happy I got to experience the familiarity (and the horror) of it all!
