Published in 1988, I think Vyffff by De Waal Venter was totally ahead of its time.
This book is funny, and a fast and immersive read! I think Vyffff is (like they say) very campy, and has the potential to be a cult classic.
It was fun to read a space-fantasy in my first language; and the inside jokes were out of this world (wordplay intended!)
Further, I think the book's title is adorable—I feel it refers to Waldemar's (main character) five (new and old) most important people in his life.
I wish this book could be experienced by more people!
P.S. I did my best on the translation, but unfortunately, there's no proper translation for "lekker" 😔 (IYKYK)
