About the Author

Megan Diedericks is a biromantic ace from South Africa. Her first language is Afrikaans, but she primarily writes in English. Writing has been a passion since she wrote her first poem at around twelve years old, and that hasn't changed now that she's in her twentysomethings!

Megan's poem, Three Acts of Mercy, was nominated for the 2025 Rhysling Awards, and her work has been published over sixty times in various journals and presses, both online and in print.
Megan writes poetry and fiction, everything from meek to macabre can be found in between the lines. Her poetry explores themes of mental health and self-reflection, and when they're not personal—her poems are speculative in nature. The main genres she writes fiction in are Horror, Fantasy, and something akin to Science Fiction. She loves everything fantastical and fanged!

She is the author of two books: the darkest of times, the darkest of thoughts (self-published, 2022) and The Coffin Chronicles (Island of Wak-Wak, 2025).

When she is not writing, she acts as foofaraw's sporadic social media manager! Otherwise, you will most likely find her crying over fictional characters, taking photos and videos of whatever catches her eye, or listening to music. Megan also enjoys arts and crafts—even if her projects come out a little wonky!
